Use
of WDM (Win32 Driver Model) drivers with
Sample Champion
Sample
Champion can work with any audio hardware that uses a Windows
compatible driver. Also the new WDM drivers are supported.
The use of these drivers can give many benefits: low latency
and much improved robustness (especially under heavy system
loads).
Moreover, in some cases the use of these drivers resolves compatibility
problems between audio cards and Sample Champion. For example
the M-Audio Delta series audio
card with WDM drivers doesn't need any longer the Audio Hardware
Adjustments function (all values can be set to "0").
The Ego-Sys Wa-Mi Rack 24 audio
card with WDM drivers works well with Sample Champion (previously
it didn't, probably because of a bug in the standard drivers).
Unfortunately these two devices cannot be used at 24 bit depth
with current WDM drivers.
